Deanna Radcliffe, NAIA Cleary University Assistant

Deanna RadcliffePosition: Coach

Coaching Background: Deanna is the assistant coach at Cleary University.  She is also the head coach of the Hartland Varsity HS Lacrosse and Field Hockey teams.  She spent 7 seasons as the varsity head coach at South Lyon High School.  Radcliffe also spent some time coaching for Champion Lacrosse.  Before relocating to Michigan in 2006, Radcliffe coached at Great Valley HS in PA.  Radcliffe was also a camp counselor and an administrative assistant at United Sports Training Center.  Radcliffe was named All League Coach of the Year in 2008, as well as the Ann Arbor News Coach of the Year in 2008 and 2009. Radcliffe possesses Level I, Level II and Level III US Lacrosse Certifications and is a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance. Radcliffe’s CPR & First Aid Certifications are all current.

Playing Background: During her playing career she played for Division I Temple University. As a player, Radcliffe was named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year in 2003. She was also named to the All-Championship Team, Academic All-Conference Team, Atlantic 10 All-Conference Team, Player of the Week 3 times and named Regional All-American as a senior. Radcliffe continues to play competitively throughout the year.

Professional Experience: Elementary Special Education Teacher

Academic Achievements: Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary & Special Education from Temple University, Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Sports Leadership & Coaching from Michigan State University.


Alyssa Shaver, NAIA Lourdes University Head Coach

alPosition: Coach

Coaching Background:  Alyssa was recently hired as the new head coach at Lourdes University in Sylvania, OH.  Alyssa was the graduate assistant at LTU and the head coach at Bloomfield HS for the 2017 season. She has also coached the following: Bloomfield Middle School Coach 2009-20011, Bloomfield Assistant Varsity Coach 2011, Grand Blanc Head Varsity Coach 2012-2014.  She worked with Champion Lacrosse 2009- 2016.  She has also worked with the Mid-Michigan Lacrosse Club.  

Playing Background: Alyssa played high school at Carman-Ainsworth.  She was a varsity starter all four years 2005-2008.  She played travel lacrosse for the Detroit Lacrosse Club 2005-2007.  She played for Division I University of Detroit Mercy in 2009-2010.  She then transferred to Lawrence Technological University. This past season she was named WHAC First Team All-Conference, NWLL All-American First Team, NWLL National Offensive Player of the Year.  She finished the season with 101 goals, 13 assists and 54 ground balls..  

Academic BackgroundAlyssa is working towards a degree in Industrial/Organizational psychology.


Jason Stanyer, NAIA Cleary University Head Coach

jasonPosition: President, Goalie Coach

Coaching Background: Beyond his role with the Cyclones, Stanyer spent the last 3 seasons as the varsity assistant coach at Hartland HS.  Stanyer is in his first season as the head coach of the new women’s lacrosse program at Cleary University. Stanyer is also the Director of Girl’s Lacrosse at the Legacy Center in Brighton, MI. 

Stanyer possesses Level I, Level II and Level III US Lacrosse Certifications and is a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance.  In addition to his lacrosse credentials, Stanyer has previously functioned as a NCCPT certified trainer and holds current certifications in CPR & First Aid.

Professional Experience: Jason has over 14 years of experience in the field of International Trade with his current role being Director of Business Practice Innovation with responsibilities encompassing Information Technology, Data Analytics, Training, Quality and Process Design.

Academic Achievements: Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems, MBA with Concentrations in Operations Management and Accounting, and Master of Science in Information Technology Management from Oakland University.  He is also a Certified Customs Specialist and Licensed US Customs Broker.


Brett Yenger

yenPosition: Coach

Coaching Background:  Yenger is entering her fourth season as the head women’s lacrosse coach at Wilmington College.  At Wilmington, Yenger led the Quakers to their first ever win in 2015 and finished with a 3-13 record, including a win in the OAC conference, in only its third year in existence.  She has lead the Quakers to more success every year and continues to improve the program. 

Playing Background: A graduate of Sycamore High School, Yenger has a track record of success. She was in goal when Sycamore captured its first state championship in 2007 and was a U.S. Lacrosse High School All-American in 2008.

Yenger’s collegiate career started at University of Detroit Mercy, where she led the Titans to an 18-5 record in 2009. After transferring to University at Albany-SUNY, Yenger helped the Great Danes capture the 2011 America East championship and a berth in the NCAA Championship Elite Eight.

At Wilmington, she lead the Quakers to their first ever win in 2015 and finished the season with a 3-13 record, including a win in the OAC conference, in only it’s third year of existence.

Academic Background: Yenger graduated with a degree in English.


Dominque Zigo, D1 Robert Morris University

Position: Coach

Coaching Background: Dominique has helped out at many lacrosse and basketball camps throughout high school and college. Dominique has a personal training and group fitness training certification through ACE Fitness which has been used to train various athletes in strengthening, conditioning, agility, and speed. Dominique also holds current CPR, First Aid and AED certifications along with two physical therapy internships.

Playing Background: Dominique is currently a senior at Robert Morris University where she plays attack. Dominique played for Huron Valley United during her high school years. She was a four-year varsity player who received All-State First Team senior year and All-State Honorable Mentions junior and sophomore year. Dominique also received all-conference, all-league and all-area honors throughout her four years. She was a US Lacrosse Academic All-American in 2013 and 2014. 

Academic Background: Dominique is a biology major with a concentration in pre-medicine and minoring in chemistry and plans to become a physical therapist. 


Kadijah Kalo, NAIA Lawrence Tech Alum

Position: Coach

Coaching Background:  Kadijah is a coach at Bloomfield Middle School. She has also coached the following: Bloomfield HS (Junior Varsity) Coach 2016, Grosse Point South High School Junior Varsity B Head Coach 2015.

Playing Background: Kadijah played high school lacrosse at East Lansing High School in East Lansing, MI.  She was a varsity starter all four years 2010-2013.  She played for Lawrence Technological University (Southfield, MI), an NAIA school from 2014-2017. This past season she was named WHAC First Team All-Conference, WHAC Offensive Player of the Year, NAIA All-American First Team, NAIA Player of the Year, and NAIA Academic All-American.  She finished the season with 65 goals, 33 assists and 70 draw controls.  

Academic Background: Kadijah has received a Bachelors degree of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Lawrence Tech. This Fall she will be attending Ferris State University pursing her PharmD. Degree. 


Lauren Cole, D2 Ursuline College Alum

Coaching Background: Lauren has been teaching and coaching swimming since she was 15. She started coaching lacrosse after she got a scholarship to play D2 lacrosse at Ursuline college. She helps coach Brighton High school lacrosse team and serves as a goalie coach. Also, she has been working with the cyclones since 2014- till now as a goalie coach and giving one-on-one training at the legacy center. Coaching and working with kids is a passion in her life and hopes to continue sharing her knowledge about Lacrosse.

 Playing Background:  Ursuline College Lacrosse- Goalie (4 years), Team Captain (2015-16, 2017), GMAC Conference finals (2017), GMAC Defensive player of the Week (2017),GMAC Conference Champions (2016), Lacrosse Team Unsung Hero Award (2016), GLIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention (2015), GLIAC Defensive Player of the week (2015), Total of 509 saves in Collegiate career.  Brighton High School Varsity Lacrosse – Goalie (4 years), Michigan Lacrosse State Champion (2011), Kensington Lakes Athletic Association, All Conference 1st Team (2012, 2013), All State Honorable Mention (2012, 2013) and Team Captain (2012, 2013).

Academic Background:  Ursuline College – Biology Major, Graduation August 2017, Overall GPA 3.3, Scholarship Athlete – Member of Ursuline College Lacrosse Team, NCAA Division II, GLIAC\GMAC Academic All-Conference (2015, 2016) and Ursuline College – Dean’s List (2016, 2017).


Ashton Peters, D3 Alma College Alum

Position: Coach

Coaching Background: Ashton just finished her first year as the Freshman coach of Brighton High School. During this season she led the team to an undefeated season. She also has helped the Brighton High School Varsity. Ashton also coached with the Rapid Lax lacrosse club during her years in college.

Playing Background: Ashton graduated from Brighton High School in 2012. During her time at Brighton, Ashton helped secure their first state championship in 2011.  During college Ashton played mid-field at Alma College. She was recognized at the Rookie of the conference in 2013 along with 1st team all conference. She completed her career at Alma with two first team all conference seasons and 2 second team all conference seasons. She also rounded out her career with three program records for career assists, career ground balls, and career caused turnovers.  

Academic Background: Bachelor of Arts Degree from Alma College in Elementary education with a focus in mathematics and science.
